"Hello everyone and welcome to my blog which covers a multitude of banter and blather. Feel free to browse around ..."

Blasht from the Pasht!

My, how the tides of time doth surge by! Stumbled across this clip as I was spring-cleaning the ole PC the other day, a clip from a time way back when we Ukeristics spent a day with a crew from RTÉ for a feature they did on us for the Nationwide programme. Neither today nor yesterday, but clear in the mind all the same.

It was all a bit odd in its own way but really uplifting too, specially that point in the day when we were up on the Grand Canal feeding slices of Brennan's bread to a fairly aggressive bank of swans for reasons that defy me to this day! Still, no-one said being in a band was a stroll in the park!

A lot of water has gone under that bridge in Rathmines since this went out one distant October day fadó fadó and the Ukeristics have seen several triumphs and tribulations, re-tunings and re-incarnations and periods of endless dormancy in the meantime.

But ... this particular time is not one of them!

Yes, the five of us have dusted down and re-entrantly re-tuned our old Martins, Ponos, Kiways and Kalas, cleared our rusty throats, pressed the black slacks, and penned some new tunes in readiness for a final finale. Rehearsals are currently underway. All we are waiting for is for someone to shout an' a one, two, three, hour and we're off.

So, nothing beside remains for y'all other than to watch out for us on the main stage of the Ukulele Hooley 2019 which takes place in the People's Park in Dun Laoghaire on Sunday, August 18th 2019 and we'll take it from there.

Should be a nice surprise!

More soon ...

Puts the sunshine in your eyes!
